Interplanting

I took advantage of the small spaces between the garlic to interplant  lettuce. The lettuce grew amazingly fast and I do believe the garlic shaded the lettuce enough to keep it lasting longer in the garden. It will take until July when we harvest the garlic to see what effects the lettuce may have had on garlic size. Interplanting really cut back on weeding and overall, I am impressed with the results.

Popping up Parsnips

The parsnips took their sweet time sprouting....Making it more difficult to tell what was a weed or an actual baby sprout..They have finally popped up and have their heads held high and mighty. Weeding just got a lot easier.

Crazy for Kale

I am crazy for Kale....When I first tried it a few years ago... I really didn't get what all the hype was about!

I discovered that I preferred the main vain to be removed...My opinion of Kale has drastically changed.

Bolting

With early warm temps, my spinach has already bolted. I am going to let it naturally re-seed itself right where it's at.
